Chain, Shackle Assembly - CSA
Overview
The CSA is a high-capacity chain shackle assembly designed for use with the Aardwolf Scissor clamps, combining a lifting lug, chain, and swivel shackle into a single unit. The purpose of a chain between a lifting clamp and a hook or teeth on a backhoe is to create a flexible, articulating connection that allows the operator to lift, transport, and precisely place heavy materials like stone while keeping the load safely suspended below the machinery.
Why and how the CSA chain shackle assembly is used:
Reach and Clearance: The chain drops the lifting clamp lower than the backhoe bucket’s teeth or hook, allowing the backhoe to lower materials in deep or narrow trenches without forcing the heavy backhoe arm itself into the hole.
Precise Placement: When the clamp and chain are rigged, workers can adjust and swivel the load for highly precise positioning of the material.
Prevents crushing of the clamp: When the clamp is fixed with limited space between itself and the boom, the clamp can be crushed and damaged between the load and the boom if the boom is accidently lowered with force onto the clamp.
The CSA chain shackle assembly provides strength, durability, and reliable performance in lifting operations.
