Aardwolf Lifter Auto - AL30A
Overview
The Aardwolf AL30A is a slab lifter designed for handling granite and marble stone slabs, with a grip range of 0–30 mm. This model is specifically suited for thin stone slabs, where stability and precise positioning are critical during lifting and handling.
The slab lifter uses a gravity-based auto-lock mechanism that increases gripping force as the load is applied, ensuring a secure hold throughout the lifting process. Once the slab is fully lowered and supported, the lifter releases automatically, eliminating the need for manual unclamping.
Integrated rollers allow the slab lifter to move smoothly along the edge of the stone slab, making it easier to position the lifter accurately before lifting.
How It Works
The slab lifter is positioned at the edge of the stone slab and aligned at the center to ensure balanced lifting. When lifting begins, the clamping mechanism tightens automatically based on the weight of the slab.
As the load increases, the gripping force also increases, helping maintain stability throughout the lifting process. Once the slab is fully lowered and supported, the slab lifter releases automatically without requiring manual intervention.
Key Features
- Auto-lock mechanism for stone slab handling: The clamp uses a gravity-based locking system that increases gripping force as the load increases, ensuring stable handling of thin slabs.
- Automatic release on set-down: The clamp releases automatically when the slab is placed down, reducing handling steps and avoiding manual release under load.
- Rollers for positioning: Integrated rollers allow smooth adjustment along the slab edge, helping position the clamp correctly before lifting.
- Front-edge clamping: The front clamping design allows slabs to be picked from tightly packed storage and positioned close to walls during installation.
- Safety factor 3:1: Designed with a 3:1 safety factor to ensure durability and stability under normal working conditions. The clamp must always be used within its rated working load limit (WLL).
- Compact design for confined spaces: The compact structure allows easy operation in confined spaces such as racks and containers.
Applications
- Stone fabrication workshops handling granite and marble slabs
- Storage and warehouse operations for stone materials
- Container loading and unloading of stone slabs
- Construction and installation of stone surfaces
Usage Notes
- Always position the slab lifter at the center of the stone slab before lifting
- Do not use the slab lifter on cracked or unstable materials
- Do not exceed the rated working load limit
- Inspect the slab lifter before each use
Frequently Asked Questions
What materials can slab lifters handle?
They are designed for granite, marble, and other stone slabs with stable structure and flat surfaces.
Can one person operate this slab lifter?
Yes. The automatic locking and release mechanism allows single-operator use in many cases.
When is slipping likely to occur?
Slipping may occur if the clamp is not centered, the material is unstable, or the load exceeds the rated capacity.
What is the most important factor during operation?
Correct positioning of the clamp before lifting is critical for stability and safety.
What is the difference between grip range and load capacity?
Grip range refers to slab thickness compatibility, while load capacity defines the maximum weight the lifter can safely handle.
Do I need different slab lifters for different slab thicknesses?
Yes. Using the correct slab lifter model ensures proper grip and stability.
